The person behind the practice
Dr Abdul Ziyath is a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng), Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ), and holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Engineering from Queensland University of Technology. With more than 17 years of experience spanning hydraulic engineering, environmental research and complex project management, he founded Zedz Consultants to bring genuine technical authority to the client side of project delivery.
His hydraulic engineering expertise covers building services design to the AS/NZS 3500 series, fire and gas services, stormwater and site drainage, and sewer and water service coordination.
As a project manager, he has led major programs across Brisbane's education, childcare, community, residential, industrial and commercial sectors — coordinating multidisciplinary consultant teams, navigating Queensland's regulatory frameworks, and representing clients from tender through construction to handover.
His research background — including a Visiting Research Fellowship at QUT — gives him an evidence-based, methodical approach to problems that most generalist consultants approach by instinct alone.
